This pink lactation drink is perfect for moms who are breastfeeding and need to stay hydrated. I loved this drink while I was pumping!

Not only is this pink drink pretty but it’s pretty close to the actual pink drink at Starbucks. There are some differences, for example this version does not have any caffeine where as the original does. The original version also Strawberry Açaí Refreshers that is made from green coffee extract where as this one is made from juice.

Why you’ll love this drink
This drink is great for staying hydrated which may help increase your breast milk supply. Making milk takes calories and tons of water! It can also make you very hungry and thristy. These lactation cookies are the perfect snack when breastfeeding has your appetite ramped up.
This drink also has coconut milk in it. According to Mommy Nearest,
Coconut is a part of a unique group of foods composed of good saturated fats known as “medium chain fatty acids” and a mother’s breast milk is another. EFAs and Omega-3s help increase a woman’s supply several ways. The first is by simply improving mom’s nutrition so she can produce the hormones necessary for milk production.
Two other things that also helped me with my breastfeeding and pumping journey were the Haakaa manual breast pump and Mother’s Milk tea.
What’s in the original Starbucks pink drink?
According to the Starbucks website:
Our crisp, Strawberry Açaí Refreshers® Beverage, with its accents of passion fruit, is combined with creamy coconutmilk. A fruity and refreshing sip of spring, no matter what time of year.
Their nutritional information also states there is 45 mg of caffeine for a grande size. My copycat version below contains no caffeine.
What ingredients are needed for this recipe?
To make this recipe, you will need:
- Ice: Just like the original. Add as much or as little as you like.
- Pink cranberry juice: I used Ocean Spray.
- Vanilla coconut milk: I find that the unsweetened version works well since this juice is already very sweet.
- Freeze dried strawberries: You’ll need just a few.
- Chia seeds (optional): I like to add a few chia seeds to mine to add extra nutrients.

tumbler (you can also stir)
Ingredients
- ½ cup pink cranberry juice
- ⅓ cup vanilla coconut milk I used unsweetened
- 1-2 teaspoon chia seeds optional for extra nutrients that may support breastfeeding
- ¼ cup freeze dried strawberries
- ice
Instructions
If you have a tumbler for mixed drinks combine the ingredients except for ice and shake well. Pour over ice.
If you don't have a tumbler, stir well and then pour over ice.

You can use regular milk or a little bit of half and half.
