In this post I’ll be sharing a Bag Roasted Chicken Recipe.

Delicious juicy Roasted Chicken! A favorite meal and so easy to make. I love bag roasted chicken because there’s less mess and easy clean up. Winner winner, chicken dinner!

You’ve got minimal effort, minimal ingredients and end up with a beautiful bird every time.

Who doesn’t enjoy a roasted chicken dinner? Am I right?!? It is a great option for family meals served along with your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, green beans and macaroni & cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Stick Butter, softened
  • 1 tsp Fresh Rosemary, minced
  • Sprigs of Rosemary
  • 1 tsp Thyme, minced
  • Sprigs of Thyme
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika, plus more to sprinkle on top of chicken
  • 1 3-4 lb Whole Chicken
  • Salt and Cracked Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1 Oven Ready Roasting Bag

Easy Roasted Chicken

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Add the diced rosemary and thyme to the softened butter, along with 1/4 tsp of paprika, mix to combine. Make sure your butter is good and soft. It’s going to make rubbing it on the chicken a lot easier.

Be sure to remove any of the giblets inside the chicken if there are any (liver, gizzard, etc). Spread the herb butter all over the whole chicken.

Sprinkle some salt, cracked black pepper, and paprika over the chicken. Y’all, paprika is my secret to always having a beautiful color on chicken and pork. Add fresh sprigs of rosemary and thyme inside the cavity of the chicken. You can add other aromatics along with the herbs inside the cavity, such as a halved lemon or quartered onion if desired.

Place the chicken inside of an oven ready roasting bag. Close the bag with the tie that comes with it. Place into a roasting pan.

Place the chicken into the preheated oven. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

When the cooking time is complete. Remove the chicken from the oven and let rest for 15 minutes before carving.

If you’re careful opening the bag and removing the chicken, you’ll have easy clean up of your roasting pan.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Stick Butter, softened

  • 1 Whole Chicken (3-4 pounds)
  • Salt and Cracked Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1 Oven Ready Roasting Bag

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl, add the diced rosemary and thyme to the softened butter, along with 1/4 tsp of paprika, mix to combine. Next, spread the herb butter over the whole chicken.
  3. Next season by sprinkling some salt, cracked black pepper, and paprika over the chicken.
  4. Next, add fresh sprigs of rosemary and thyme inside the cavity of the chicken along with any other aromatics, if using.
  5. Next, place the chicken inside of an oven ready roasting bag and close the bag with the tie that comes with it. Transfer the roasting bag into a roasting pan.
  6. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Allow the chicken to rest 15 minutes before carving.
